About

ALEXANDRA FILM is an Estonian production company founded by creative producer Marianne Ostrat in 2006. The company’s debut fiction feature THE END OF THE CHAIN (2017, dir. Priit Pääsuke) premiered at Karlovy Vary and received four Estonian Film & TV Award nominations. In the same year its first minority co-production, the Spanish-Estonian feature documentary CONSTRUCTING ALBERT screened at San Sebastian, SXSW, HotDocs and Palm Springs.

From then the company has gone from strength to strength with a string of award-winning projects, most recently the Icelandic-Estonian DRIVING MUM (2022, dir. Hilmar Oddsson) which premiered at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and won the festival’s Grand Prix; and the upcoming feature doc SMOKE SAUNA SISTERHOOD (dir. Anna Hints) which will premiere at Sundance in 2023. The company is experienced in co-productions across Europe.
